BYLP's Black Prom & Scholarship Fundraiser - Ode to the Harlem Renaissance 

 

The Harlem Renaissance was an artistic flowering of the “New Negro” movement as its participants celebrated their heritage and embraced self-expression, rejecting long-standing—and often degrading—stereotypes.  Ode to the Harlem Renaissance is a tribute to a period in time where Blacks took the arts – both visual and performing – by storm. This was an exciting time of rejuvenation that fueled a feeling of pride and cultural creativity. We want to embody that same spirit even if just for one night as we recreate that moment in time.  

 

Please note: high school student ID or school verification REQUIRED, no admittance if we cannot verify age and that you are currently in high school
