Partnering With BYLP Support Networks
BYLP Support Networks are offered in partnership with schools and community-based organizations to provide developmental, peer-based support for youth who are already engaged through BYLP advocacy services or aligned partner referrals.
These supports are designed to supplement existing school and community services, not replace them.
Referral-Based Collaboration Model
Support Networks operate through a referral-only model to ensure appropriate placement, student safety, and program sustainability.

Schools and partners may refer students when:

-
Peer-based developmental support is appropriate
-
The student is not in need of clinical or academic remediation
-
The support aligns with current BYLP program offerings

All referrals are reviewed by BYLP staff to determine fit, readiness, and available capacity.
What Support Networks Provide
What Support Networks Do Not Provide
To ensure clarity and appropriate referrals, Support Networks do not:
Provide clinical mental health services
Replace school-based counseling or special education services
Guarantee placement or outcomes
Offer academic tutoring or credit recovery
Support Networks are developmental and educational in nature and do not provide therapy, counseling, or academic tutoring.
Participation is based on funding availability, program capacity, and student needs.
Through structured peer development circles, BYLP Support Networks may support students with:
Confidence and communication skill-building
Social and emotional awareness
Positive peer engagement
Healthy decision-making and self-expression
