About the event
BYLP Fashion Design Camp immerses kids aged 7-15 in creativity, design, and sustainability. Through three engaging projects, participants learn design fundamentals, practical sewing skills, and upcycling techniques to create unique clothing. The camp fosters a deep understanding of fashion's environmental impact while empowering children to express their creativity.
Week Long Objectives
- Encourage creativity with hands-on design projects.
- Teach practical sewing skills and design principles.
- Introduce sustainability concepts in fashion.
- Promote critical thinking about consumption and waste.
- Create a supportive, inclusive environment for self-expression.
This camp will be instructed by; Quinessa Stibbins Pierce.
Quinessa is currently a Freelance Apparel Designer, she has a Bachelors of Science in Apparel Design from University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Master of Fine Arts in Design From UC Davis, with an emphasis on protective apparel, Former Lead Fashion Design Educator for Design X, Former Project Diva Mpls Fashion , Design Mentor, Former Step Up Mpls Design Mentor, Designing for 8 years and working with students for 7 years.
