BYLP Re-Launches their YouTube Channel

The renewed interest in BYLP The Village’s Advocacy energies has inspired BYLP to put more time into content development on its long stalled YouTube channel. According to Lorreen Pryor, President of BYLP, “People want to know what’s going on, and by providing a glimpse into the advocacy work we are doing, we are hoping to encourage others to either join us or pick up the same efforts in their school districts."

Since January BYLP the Village has been a visible accountability partner in Elk Grove and Sacramento Unified School Districts. Their refreshing brand of advocacy includes hard truths and lots passion to make the necessary changes needed to insure the safety and well being of Black children on their campuses. “You never know what is going to come out of our mouth and that is the scary part,” said Pryor. Her partner in this work is Allegra Taylor, Coordinator of BYLP The Village. They work in tandem tackling issues related to racism, teacher targeting, suspensions/expulsions etc. If you ask them their #1 goal is to arrive at the best solution that minimizes the trauma and disruption to the student and his/her family.

By all accounts the one two punch delivered by these dynamic women is must-see TV. “There are people who approach me while I am on campuses, telling me they never miss a board meeting,” laments Taylor. “We are providing a service to the community while simultaneously showing up consistently holding everyone from the District, Administration, and its Teachers to the Campus Supervisors and School Resource Officers accountable.”

With their multi-generational approach BYLP The Village’s gifts are making room for them and you can subscribe to their YouTube channel HERE.
